From Cricket to Venture Funding: YouWeCan Ventures

Yuvraj Singh, the noted Indian cricketer well known for his fine cricketing skills and his fightback against his cancerous tumor is in news again. Taking a shift from sports ground, Yuvraj Singh is launching a Venture fund, YouWeCan Ventures, to support entrepreneurs in their startups.

Yuvraj, in his new innings is planning to invest ₹40-50 crore over a period of 3-4 years. Yuvraj expects to raise about ₹300 Cr from investors for his venture fund.

Yuvraj has started with this venture with Nishant Singhal, co-founder and Chief Investment Officer in YouWeCan. Nishant is a Chartered Accountant by profession and currently heads Strategy at “Investors Clinic” – a real estate service.

Diverging from a single area investment strategy as other fellow sportsmen, Yuvraj has taken a step ahead and decided to diversify the investments in multiple sectors like healthcare, ecommerce, sports, travel and fashion.

Yuvraj’s venture funds plans to help new startups in seed funding with ₹20-25 lakh. Also, it plans to guide entrepreneurs from seed funding to Series A venture funding.

Here is a complete list of offerings of Yuvi’s new venture:

– Seed Capital

– Technology Advisory

– Financial Advisory

– Branding, Marketing and PR

With an entrepreneurship centric environment in India, this would certainly be a ray of hope for many!
